UX Research Process
Below illustrates the basic structure of the research projects. These engagements involved working along side the implementation team as they introduced new software to our clients.
Kickoff
The initial client kickoff allows our team to align client needs and expectations to our outlined goals and parameters and gives us an initial look at the process of interest and its perceived issues.
CONTEXTUAL INTERVIEWS
In each engagement, we requested a list of participants from each role involved in the process. We then set up a base script to help narrow our focus without excluding the opportunity for new information. Each interview was conducted with a single participant and two team members. I lead over half of the interviews in these engagements and took rapid notes for the remaining. During these interviews, we included a portion of contextual inquiry where we had each participant share their screen and take us step-by-step through their role's responsibilities and process. Once each interview was completed, I would synthesize the notes by pulling key take-aways and mapping that portion of the process.
