Designing a pitch-ready prototype from scratch — sole designer on a 7-week rapid concept that unified the loan processing workflow across multiple roles and secured full investment approval.
CGI needed a compelling prototype to secure internal investment in a loan origination product concept. I came in as the sole designer with 7 weeks, a small group of stakeholders, and a concept brief — responsible for setting my own scope, conducting secondary research, and delivering a clickable Figma prototype credible enough to get the project funded.
The design centered on two problems: loan officers, processors, and underwriters were coordinating entirely outside any platform, and there was no single view of where a loan stood or what was blocking it. The prototype addressed both — contextual in-platform communication tied directly to each loan record, and a pipeline dashboard organized by status and closing-date urgency. It secured full funding and moved into development.
